The Great Gatsby Trailer Official 2012 [1080 HD] - Leonardo DiCaprio, To...

Battleship

How does an actor follow-up a major flop like John Cater? Star in a “B Grade” unoriginal, poorly scripted and directed movie called Battleship.
Taylor Kitsch star of John Carter will probably have a hit eventually (remember how many bombs Tom Hanks was in before he hit pay dirt) but this ain’t it. This movie is about a fleet of ships that is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals.
That being said add Rhianna to the mix and you realize 15 minutes into the movie that you wasted your money.
Rhianna needs to stick to what she does best and stay off the screen. Liam Neeson phoned in his part from the set of Taken 2. In other words he is barely in the movie.
There is a corny scene where they incorporate the actual game Battleship (which this movie is allegedly based on) into the movie. Finally the special effects are not on par with effects you see in the Avengers movie so if you saw the Avengers prior to this you will be disappointed in what you see on screen.

Verdict:
There really is NOTHING good that I can say about this movie. Director Peter Berg should go back to acting, back in the day he was really good in the movie The Last Seduction. He should also leave doing movie interviews (his promotion for this movie was a fiasco) and directing to the pros.

Dark Shadows

This movie looks like it was done fast and with the expectation that it would not be a blockbuster.

For one there is far too much dialogue to keep anyone interested. I never saw the original television show but I would assume that it was much more interesting than this flick.

Johnny Depp plays Barnabas Collins an imprisoned vampire, who is set free and returns to his ancestral home, where his dysfunctional descendants are in need of his protection.

Whoever did the trailer should have been hired to do the movie because it had all the best scenes and it made you want to see the movie. How bad was this movie? There’s a scene where Director Tim Burton brought back Alice Cooper?! Why? The only reason I could see was that the Director sort of looks like Alice Cooper. The soundtrack of late 70’s hits was the best thing about the movie.

Verdict:

Not even Johnny Depp could save this movie. Here’s another Not Even, this movie is not even worth watching on Netflicks. So far it makes my Top Ten list of 2012 worst movies.

Get the Gringo Official Trailer #1 - Mel Gibson Movie (2012) HD

The Avengers

What more can I say about the Avengers that has not already been said. When I saw it on Opening Day I felt that I didn’t have to write a review because it was a perfect Superhero movie.
The script by Joss Whedon and Zack Penn is similar to the writing style of the creator of these Superheroes Stan Lee.  As the story goes Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D., Samuel Jackson, brings together a team of super humans to form The Avengers to help save the Earth from Loki and his army.
With all of these Heroes together and some stronger than others you would think that many of them, especially Captain America, would not be able to compete at the levels of Thor and The Hulk.
Joss Whedon makes sure that each character has a significant role in the movie and no one gets left out. The humor that Stan Lee had in his comic books is also in the movie.
I found it very hard to find anything wrong with this film.

Verdict:
We finally have the Hulk in a movie where he looks believable and acts like The Hulk did in the comic books. He ends up stealing the movie.

Safe

I’m a huge fan of Jason Statham from Crank and the Transporter.
This movie is not one of his best.
The story is about a young girl whose memory holds a priceless code, finds herself pursued by Triads, mobs, and corrupt cops. Jason Statham takes them all on to save the girl.

Nothing new here and the story is weak. What’s needed is less story and more action however the body count is high. There is also an attempt of a GQ showdown (Jason and a bad guy with similar skills dressed in suits ready to fight). This is a male bonding flick not a date movie. Hopefully Jason will start getting better scripts otherwise he will end up like Steven Segal and Van Damme making Direct to Video movies five years from now when he turns 50.

Verdict: You are better off watching his 2007 movie with Jet Li called War. It’s similar and is a well directed movie.
