Safe Haven
This is another movie that was made from a Nicholas Spark novel. Out of all the ones I have seen I would say this is the weakest due to the fact that it seems to be a remix of the movie Sleeping with the Enemy sprinkled with The Sixth Sense. In other words it’s not up to par to The Notebook which made Spark famous. The story is about a young woman with a mysterious past who lands in Southport, North Carolina where her bond with a widower forces her to confront the dark secret that haunts her.
The story sounds interesting until you cast (2) “B” List actors who have not ever been the star of a hit movie. Julianne Hough, former dancer from Dancing with the Stars, does her best but you can tell that she is a rookie actress. Josh Duhamel, who plays the widower, is just eye candy for the women who go to see this film but he is also a poor actor.
Verdict:
You will feel like you are sitting at home watching a bad Lifetime movie.
