Great movie to rent: Marathon Man

The Seventies produced many classic films and many of them were from Paramount including The Godfather. Marathon Man was one that has been underrated and is a true classic.
The star of the movie is who this generation knows as Mr. Focker, Dustin Hoffman. He is in his prime in this movie and he was a GREAT actor.
In this flick he is teamed up with another great actor from a prior generation Sir Laurence Oliver. The movie also has other “A” list actors whom were just starting out but one of the main stars is the gritty city of New York.
Marathon Man was a best selling book and was produced by Robert Evans just like The Godfather.
The movie has nothing to do with running a marathon however runners will be able to relate. The acting from every character is superb especially from the lady who portrays a Nazi war victim and recognizes one of her concentration camp tormentors in New York City’s Diamond District.
The amazing thing about this movie is that Dustin is 40 years old in this movie and he is playing a college student. He nails it. Keep in mind he plays a woman in Tootsie years after this movie and nails that role as well.

Verdict: World Class cast, World Cast acting however if you plan on going to visit the dentist anytime soon do not rent this movie.
