How To Train Your Dragon
Finally!
A kids movie I can take my kids to and enjoy without falling asleep.
The story is about A nerdy young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons and becomes the owner of a young dragon and then learns that he has alot in common.
This movie was a children's book and it was refreshing to see a new movie with "B" actors as the voices of the main chracters rather than a remake with "A" list stars.
Jay Baruchel from She's Out of my League does the vocals for Hiccup the lead chracter and does an excellent job. If you remember his breakthrough role was in Million Dollar Baby as Danger, the young skinny kid that wanted to be a boxer.
Gerard Butler also does vocals. Some may consider him an "A" list actor but with the crap he has been making since 300 it seems like he is just collecting a paycheck.
The other star of the movie is the 3D effects and to truely enjoy it you will have to see it in IMAX. If you don't want to see it in 3D then don't worry because the story is good enough witout it.
Verdict:
Very good childrens movie. Dreamworks has done a fine job but Pixar is still the leader in this niche.
